Black Panther's production company is Marvel Studios. Releasing this type of film can be risky because it is an original and not a remake, but because Marvel studio is so successful especially with their action/superhero it is highly probable that Black Panther will achieve high ratings. Black Panther was based on various comic books, and it’s come to the point where the audience mass is huge that the production company decided to create this action film, therefore, this time again the audiences expected the film to be another hit for Marvel.
The main protagonist of the film is Chadwick Boseman who has worked for Marvel studio before in the film ‘captain America: civil wars’ and is worth about million dollars, these are the reasons Marvel Studios may have entered him as part of the cast because of the previous experience in Captain America and since he is already introduced to the audience from Marvel Studios. Plus he is on the A-list cast list which obviously means he is a good actor himself.
The production budget for the movie was 200 million this doesn't include marketing and advertising. The production budget was used more on casting, mise en scene, and a lot of CGI effects for visual purposes, expected for a superhero movie. And  and extra amount for marketing and adve eems like it was used for the actors, the set/costumes and most of all the CGI for the visuals. It's not that surprising for a superhero movie from Marvel Studios.
Black Panther marketing campaign must have costed a lot of money. From the advertisements that I have seen and that is still displayed. Posters were displayed all around London transport: underground, bus, railways, Uber, Taxi. Apart from that, posters were posted on billboards and the trailers were played on the screens of BFI Imax, also the Black Panther trailers were constantly played before every movie that was out around this time. It was also viral on social media, there were a lot of famous Facebook pages posting the trailers or the pictures from Black Panther even so on Instagram, twitter…etc.
For licensed products, it was on for: Lego, McDonalds, and Lexus. Lego produced Lego figures for Black Panther characters and in McDonalds they were advertising Black Panther on happy meal boxes and so on… Lexus car was used during the film when the protagonists gets on top of the car during a chase.
This links into brand partnerships, Lexus was one of the brand partnerships that was carried out in the movie.

  1. We could have some more detail on *why* you think these brand partnerships were established and how Disney could use the other arms of the conglomerate to aid the success. c
